■ A MINUTE’S silence was observed for Karen Browne, who once served Welwyn Garden City and the Spartan South Midlands league with distinction.
WGC found themselves two down within the opening 15 minutes after goals from Tom Coles and George Wheeler-Bailey.
City clawed their way back into it when Dernell Wynter netted a penalty after being fouled.
Biggleswade increased their lead with further goals from Coles and Olu Aderoju gave the scoreline a flattering look.
