■ 1874 Northwich recorded their first league win of the season with a scrappy result at Newcastle Town.
The only goal of the game came from the penalty spot after 33 minutes. Castle goalkeeper Joe Slinn brought down Jack Irlam and the striker dusted himself down to finish confidently off the inside of a post.
The home side improved after the break, but carried little threat.
Irlam could have doubled the advantage, but was denied by a sprawling save from Slinn.
