STRIKER Scott Robson scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, in a lively Gateshead derby that brought six goals, red cards and sin bins.
There were chances at both ends before Robson’s first spot kick arrived in the 16th minute, only for Birtley to restore parity within four minutes in this all Northern League clash.
Glen Hargrave got on the end of Callum Smith’s free-kick to head in, Stephen Hall then hitting a Whickham post from close range.
