CHARLIE CARTER hit Eastleigh’s winner on the hour mark, but the Spitfires made heavy weather of beating Dover Athletic, who played the last 15 minutes with ten men after teenager Henry Young was sent off.
Eastleigh generally bossed the game but the end product often wasn’t there as gallant Dover made it a frustrating afternoon.
Referee Paul Johnson dished out eight yellow cards – five of them to Dover players – besides sending Young off for a late challenge.
