■ MOHAMMAD Qasim grabbed his 15th goal of the season to put Brighouse on course for victory over Consett.
Ten minutes later Consett goalkeeper James Anderson spilled a cross and Alex Phillipson doubled the lead.
Brighouse had another ruled out for offside soon after and hit the crossbar from a corner on the stroke of the half-time interval.
Consett did pull one back after 68 minutes, Ben Ramsey crossing for sub Jack Atkinson to head home.
