CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC saw their lead at the top cut to just four points after suffering a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Pagham on Saturday.
A first half strike proved enough for the visitors to hand the league leaders just their second defeat of the season.
Pat Harding struck twice for second-placed Hassocks as they closed the gap to Crowborough with an emphatic 4-0 home win against struggling Saltdean United.
Third placed Newhaven were impressive 4-2 winners away to fifth-placed Steyning Town with Lee Robinson netting twice and Ryan Warwick and Alfie Rogers also on target.
