Regular readers will know that my favourite league is the Northern League. There’s nothing like a north-east welcome and the fish and chips are usually the best in the world.
The football is normally hard but fair with very little whinging after every slight coming together or disputed throw-in on the halfway line.
The Fox spots FC Hartlepool’s match against Jarrow gleaming out from The NLP’s fixture list like an emergency flare being launched from a distressed vessel. I finesse the plan by suggesting Middlesbrough’s Academy game against Wolves ...
