IMRAN Kayani bagged the only goal as Whitehawk took the Sussex derby honours and dashed any lingering Hastings play-off hopes.
The game started brightly for Hastings.
They produced some slick passing to create chances in the Whitehawk penalty area but the final ball and finish was lacking a little.
The best chance of the half fell to Davide Rodari from a Freddie Legg cross.
Rodari, waiting a yard out, appeared odds on to score but for the smallest of touches from keeper Mitch Walker to divert the ball away.
