Northern Premier League East Division play-offs round-up

NPL Premier

Stockton Town will host Dunston in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East play-off final.

Both won their semi-final ties 2-0 at home on Tuesday night set up the climax to the season.

Stockton lost out on the title to Hebburn Town to a point, but recovered from that disappointment to overcome Carlton Town, with Glen Butterworth scoring in each half.

Dunston benefitted from Pontefract Collieries being reduced to 10 men on six minutes, with Jack Vann seeing red. Dale Pearson and Richard Coulson were on target for the hosts.

Stockton, who lost last year’s play-off final on penalties to Long Eaton United, finished eight points ahead of Dunston in the regular season. Both league meetings ended in draws.

The final takes place on Saturday May 4 at Stockton’s Bishopton Road West ground, KO 3pm.
