Boxing Day and New Year’s Day double-header scrapped in National Leagues

Steps 1 and 2 clubs will no longer face the same opponents on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The change prevents sides meeting in a close timeframe, a tradition which has been in place for Steps 1 and 2 since the restructure in 2004.

After surveying all clubs, the Board agreed that the League will reverse Boxing Day fixtures with Good Friday, and New Year’s Day with Easter Monday. This will commence in December 2024.

It has also been announced that the 2024/25 National League, National League North and National League South seasons will begin on Saturday 10 August 2024 and conclude on Saturday 26 April 2025.
