A GOAL in each half was enough to see Lewes take all three points from their season opener at The Dripping Pan.
Both sides started tentatively with no real chances being created in a cagey first ten minutes that at times resembled a pre-season fixture due to a lack of intensity.
The hosts soon stepped up a gear and found themselves ahead after just 14 minutes through a powerful strike from Matt Warren, who punished Chatham for failing to clear their lines.
