■BARTON Rovers got the better of neighbours Leighton Town in a tense encounter where the hosts were the better side in the first half and Leighton in the second.
The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute when Louie Barrett cut inside and fired low into the bottom corner Barton’s John Shamalo levelled things up nine minutes later, before two terrific, and near-identical, strikes four minutes apart, from Markel Cousins put Rovers firmly min the driving seat, handing them a 3-1 half-time advantage.
