A FEW hours after organisers of the Fenix Trophy announced Bury’s withdrawal from the latest edition of the competition, an Avro board member took to social media to react.
“We could stand in for them,” Paul Armstrong replied on X. He tagged chairman Rob Fuller into the post.
Not long afterwards, the phones of joint managers Dave Birch and Mike Norton lit up with a message from Armstrong asking if they fancied it.
