Chatham had beaten their hosts 2-0 earlier in the season, and should have taken the lead in this tie, but Kofi Anokye Boadi saw his strike saved before the rebound cannoned off the post.
Rhys Byrne had to be at his best again to deny the visitors, saving brilliantly from Simon Cooper’s powerful header.
TQ Addy was Bowers’ main source of attacking intent and had two efforts saved by Joe Wright in quick succession.
