A FOUR-GOAL thriller fell Lewes’ way, as the battling Rooks booked their place in the next round of the FA Trophy via spot-kicks in Sussex.
First-half action was limited, yet spectators saw the breakthrough come as the hosts’ goalkeeper Toby Bull unfortunately found his own net to gift Ashford the lead in the 28th minute.
In the second period, the travelling United side doubled their advantage.
