GOSPORT ran out winners after a dominant first-half display.
They went ahead on 10 minutes from a neatly worked free kick from Yearwood, which set up Tarbuck, whose deflected shot found the net. Gosport continued to make chances and got a deserved second just before half time. No one in the Poole defence challenged Agbeseyi as he headed home.
Poole were much improved in the second half, with Clarke proving a considerable threat. When Holmes was bundled over in the box and McCarthy neatly converted the penalty, it was game on.
