ALFRETON TOWN saw off fellow National League North side Needham Market after a feisty afternoon in Derbyshire.
The home side took the lead with the first real sight of goal after a cagey opening seven minutes.
The Reds worked it well out to the right to Josh Clackstone, and the defender swept a fine finish from 20 yards into the far corner to open the scoring.
The Reds got their second on 21 minutes, as Lewis Salmon plucked a long ball out of the sky and calmly slotted past Danny Cullum from close range.
