The hosts came into the game unbeaten in five matches, and they dominated the opening exchanges.
Denzelle Olopade saw his shot blocked in the opening minute, before Callum Jones fired narrowly over the crossbar. The brilliant Olly Box forced a corner seconds later, before the equally brilliant Samir Carruthers saw his free-kick tipped on to the crossbar by Lewes goalkeeper Toby Bull.
