DESPITE the conditions at the Away Day Care Shawe View Stadium, Trafford dominated the first half and took a deserved lead in the 22nd minute when skipper Harry Norris headed home a corner.
Sean Higgins twice went close to doubling the hosts’ lead and Cian Donohue just failed to connect at the back post before Linnets began to take control.
Linnets’ sub Ryan Brooke fired over with the goal at his mercy and home keeper Sam Booth pushed an Adam Moseley thunderbolt to safety.
