CANVEY Island moved above Hendon with a 1-0 victory over the depleted Greens yesterday.
It was something of a surprise that half-time was reached goalless but the second half saw very few chances.
Finley Dorrell should have given the Gulls the lead after five minutes, however Luke Campbell produced a magnificent save.
Niko Muir, who celebrated his 100th Hendon goal in midweek, fired wide a minute later and then saw an effort cleared off the line by Tom Stephen. George Abbott made a brilliant tackle on Chris Harris to end a Canvey chanc...
