MATT HEADS OFF TO UNI IN THE U.S

MAIDSTONE United have agreed to terminate the contract of striker Matt Bentley so he can return to the United States to take up a university scholarship. The 26-year-old front man played professionally in the States for Major League Soccer club Minnesota United and returns for a third spell in the States having also turned out for Hornchurch, Dover Athletic and Leatherhead this side of the water.
A Maidstone statement read: “Matt leaves with the full blessing of the club and we wish him all the best. He knows the door is always open at Gallagher.”
