FORMER Premier League midfielder Adam Clayton says he is relishing his first permanent managerial role, at Matlock Town as player-boss.
Clayton, 36, oversaw the last seven games of the season at Causeway Lane after replacing Ryan Cresswell in March.
He led the club to two wins, three draws and two defeats, but couldn’t steer them to NPL Premier safety, not helped by the Gladiators being deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.
