Islanders make history after twin play-off successes

WESSEX LEAGUE

AFTER Fareham Town won promotion via the play-offs last week, it was the turn for Division One clubs this week.
On Tuesday, Frimley Green secured their spot in the play-off final, beating Fleetlands 2-1, Nic Ciardini and Harvey Everard scoring the goals for the hosts. The following night, East Cowes Vics were also victorious, winning 2-1at Alresford Town. Toby Snow and Elliott Wheeler were on target for the Vics. On to Saturday’s final and Frimley Green, who finished second in the league, were knocked out by East Cowes Vics, who finished fourth.
