LEE PICTON says luring Carl Magnay to work as his assistant at South Shields is a “statement of intent”.
Magnay, 36, led Gateshead to within one point away of a National League play-off spot before standing down this week.
Now he has joined Ian Watson to work under Picton at the 1st Cloud Arena – and the boss couldn’t be happier.
