■ PONTEFRACT Collieries stunned Blyth Spartans with a late winner to book their place in the next round – knocking the visitors out at this stage for the first time since 1938/39.
The hosts started brightly, applying pressure on the Blyth goal throughout the first half, but struggled to carve out clear chances. After the break, the contest became a tighter, more even affair, with neither side able to gain full control.
