ATHERTON Collieries marked their return to league action with a return to form, picking up a third successive NPL victory after two weeks of cup disappointment.
The start of the game saw both teams literally weather the storm, with torrential hail dampening both teams’ efforts to take early control.
Kielen Adams ultimately helped the game to settle with a fine finish, chipping the ball over onrushing goalkeeper Callum Smith before volleying home.
