TWO late penalty decisions went Carshalton Athletic’s way as they defeated Welling United in a game in which the visitors were, arguably, the better team.
Lee Martin’s Wings had the better of the first half yet went in a goal behind.
Femi Akinwande had a powerful long-range effort pushed round the post by Carshalton keeper Matt Kerbey before he spun and fired wide. He had a further opportunity when Jack Paxman threaded him through, but his low shot was well saved by the keeper.
