DAVE PACE basked in Droylsden’s rookies showing the ‘spirit of yesteryear’ as Nelson Van’s hat-trick inspired a comeback to victory from two down.
The Bloods’ FA Vase dream looked dead and buried after Sean Cooke and Mamadou Djabi struck for the commanding Vics – but Van’s two in five minutes levelled it before half-time.
And the bullish Step 6 side bossed the second half with the swagger that Pace’s boys were renowned for when climbing to Non-League’s top tier in the late 2000s.
