WELLING UNITED made it two wins in three games to move six points from safety after a narrow win at Whitehawk.
It was Ryan Maxwell’s side who got off to the dream start when Troy Howard got a cross in from the right hand side and he found Bradley Sach, who on debut headed past Francis Hurl after just three minutes.
Hawks looked for a response, with Harry Bridle seeing an effort saved by Roraigh Browne before Florian Kastrati was denied by the away keeper.
