■ DOWNTON, flying the flag for the Wessex League in the FA Vase, beat Lymore Gardens 3-0 at Wick Lane.
Sam Davidson put the Robins ahead shortly before half-time and that was added to by second-half goals from Brett Pitman and Harry McGrath. In the day’s only Premier Division game, Portland United won 6-1 at home to Cowes Sports. Archie Woolford put the hosts ahead on 25 minutes and George Stuttle doubled that lead shortly afterwards. Woolford was at it again on 38 minutes to make it three and Sam Gadsby added a fourth before the break.
