POOLE claimed a last-gasp victory at Basingstoke thanks to top scorer Shaquille Gwengwe and goalkeeping heroics from Adam Parkes, although the game was marred by unsavoury scenes at full-time.
The visitors took an early lead when Dan Carr swooped in at the far post to nod home a floated left-wing cross inside five minutes.
The half settled into a pattern of Basingstoke possession and half-chances, Cheick Sylla, Lloyd Snell, Tom Blake and Robbie Gallagher were all unable to test Parkes, while their best chance was gifted to James Dickson ...
