DEFENCES came out on top as Warwick and Lichfield played out a goalless draw.
Visiting captain Leighton McMenemy twice went close but sent one header just over the crossbar before heading another wide.
Racing’s Jack Edwards nearly broke the deadlock in spectacular fashion on the stroke of half-time but his driven strike from range hit the crossbar.
Lichfield’s Lewi Burnside forced Tom Allsopp into action with the last act of the half with his effort having to be tipped over.
