CAPTAIN MITCH IS A LIFE SAVER!

BELSTONE FC captain Mitchel Swain has been hailed a hero after saving the life of an assistant referee who twice collapsed during a game.
Martin Weedon, 73, was running the line for Belstone’s Spartan South Midlands League Division One Cup semi-final at Darlaston Town when he suddenly went to ground in the early stages of the game.
Swain – a firefighter by day – and the two team physios, Desborough’s Carl Mallett and Alan Dunphy, of Belstone immediately rushed to his aid, deploying the defibrillator kept at Darlaston’s VPK Stadium.
