JON BENTON scored on his return to the starting XI to set Billericay on their way to a tenth straight league win.
The Blues started well, with Frankie Merrifield flashing a header wide before the striker dragged an effort past an upright soon after.
Town took the lead on 24 minutes when Merrifield laid the ball off for Benton, who finished well from inside the box.
Whitehawk thought they had equalised just past the half-hour mark but Harry Lodovica’s goal was ruled out for offside.
