HERTFORD came into the game in the knowledge that a win could take them into the play-offs, if results elsewhere were favourable.
They raced into a 12th minute lead, when ex-Duck Connor Furlong crossed from the right and it sailed into the back of the net.
The lead was doubled when a free kick was headed down by Noah Mosanya, forcing a good save from George Zammit, but Reiss Webber was on hand to force home the rebound.
