CHARITY EVENT IS BACK TO HONOUR GRAHAM

THE 52nd instalment of a long-running charity pre-season tournament gets underway in earnest this afternoon with more than just local pride at stake.
Staged in the village of Gobowen, near Oswestry, Shropshire, the Graham Edwards Memorial Trophy is one of the longest-running charity tournaments in the country having raised over £200,000 for Leukaemia Research over the years.
The tournament is named in memory of Graham, a promising young footballer – formerly of Gobowen FC and Weston Rhyn FC – who sadly died of Leukaemia aged just 21 in 1974.
