SHIELDS LOOK TO BUILD ON NEW ERA

SOUTH SHIELDS could have been crowned National League North champions on the final day of last season.
As it was, AFC Fylde kept control of their own title destiny and Shields fell in the promotion final to Kidderminster Harriers.
Since then, the Mariners have been taken over by a group overseas investors, manager Ian Watson has been lured to the EFL by Rochdale and former Gateshead boss Mike Williamson has taken the helm.
