MORECAMBE came from behind to seal a point in this well-contested National League North opener against Spennymoor Town.
Former Shrimps’ striker Richie Bennett gave the visitors the perfect start with a ninth-minute goal before Matty Daly’s penalty four minutes into the second half saw a share of the spoils.
The visitors took the lead with the game’s first attempt. A clearance fell to Bennett on the edge of the box and the striker’s fierce volley was deflected into his own net by Lewis Baines.
