■LUDWIG FRANCILLETTE’S header inside the final 15 minutes ensured Oxford City enjoyed the perfect start to their campaign against Bedford Town.
The visitors came quickly out the blocks, and forced a trio of corners. While they controlled large parts of the first period, the home side who had the better chances. Ty Marsh, against his former side, forced Laurie Walker into a fine save with a diving header on 15 minutes.
Matty Taylor should have put his side ahead. He was able to get his shot away, but again Walker denied him with a superb stop.
