UGLY WIN FOR HEED’S NEW STARS

AFTER a summer of change on and off the pitch the odds of Gateshead being joint top of the table after the first week would have been long.
After 17 players left the club and the budget was halved manager Steve Watson had to build a new young, squad.
The majority are local products with a point to prove, and after wins over Maidenhead and Salford the Heed edged past Dover. It took a goal three minutes from time from Middlesbrough loanee Luke Armstrong, his fourth in three games, to nick it.
