MORTON’S THE MAN TO LEAD IRON’S RESURGENCE

A GOAL in the fourth minute of stoppage-time from Callum Morton gave the Iron a much-needed win and three valuable points in their bid to escape the relegation zone in a what was a close-fought encounter at Cressing Road.
Just when it looked like the game would end in a stalemate, a left wing freekick from newcomer Sam Kelly, signed hours earlier from Hamilton Academicals, floated into the area and with the visitors’ defence all at sea, Morton rammed the loose ball into the roof of the net.
