EBBSFLEET United manager Kevin Watson says releasing seven players and leaving some jobless in the current climate has been “terrible news to deliver”.
Heading up the departures at Fleet is popular goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore, who leaves after a four-year spell, along with Tomi Adeloye, Andre Blackman, Alex Lawless, Ayo Obileye, Sean Shields and Aswad Thomas.
Ashmore made just five appearances this season before falling out-of-favour with then boss Garry Hill and signing on a season-long loan at Boreham Wood.
