THE teams entered the field of play to Sweet Child of Mine but that was almost the only reminder of normality at an eerie and empty Hive.
During the game you could even hear the whistles from matches on the adjacent astro-turf !
The Spitfires took the lead in the sixth minute when a deep cross from the right cut out the Barnet rear-guard, leaving Tyrone Barnett to deftly steer the ball into the top corner.
For much of the first period the visitors were the more coherent with their crisp incisive passing leaving Barnet, with six debutants, chasing shadows.
