SOUTHEND United extended their unbeaten run in the National League to 12 matches after an own goal from Fraser Kerr put a dent in Chesterfield’s automatic promotion hopes.
The hosts went in front twice through a fine Jeff King strike and Calvin Miller finish but were pegged back both times by the resilient Shrimpers with Sam Dalby also on the scoresheet from the penalty spot.
