BARNET’S revamped side hit the ground running as goals from Ephron Mason-Clark and Nicke Kabamba swept away 10-man Halifax at the Hive.
Mason-Clark, who netted the Bees’ 13th-minute opener, was one of only two survivors in the starting line-up from last season.
Debutant centre-forward Kabamba doubled the lead eight minutes from time, after Town defender Jamie Scott had been shown his second yellow card.
It was no more than the Bees deserved and head coach Dean Brennan said:
