SHOT-SHY Maidenhead United failed to find the net for the sixth time this season, and were duly punished by ruthless Gateshead at York Road.
Dan Ward pounced in the 21st minute, sweeping home Paul Blackett’s low cross as Mike Williamson’s side deservedly held on for only their second league win of the campaign.
