SOUTHEND United moved menacingly up into the National League play-off positions with this hard-fought victory at York City.
Headers in each half from defenders Gus Scott-Morriss and Shaun Hobson proved enough for Kevin Maher’s men at the LNER Community Stadium.
And it was another happy afternoon for Shrimpers keeper Collin Andeng Ndi, who has now kept eight clean sheets in his last 12 games.
