SOUTHEND United suffered frustration both on and off the pitch after being edged out by Barnet at Roots Hall on Friday night.
Idris Kanu bagged the only goal of the game for the Bees in the second half.
But Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher later confirmed that star defender Kacper Lopata would be leaving the club after opting to cancel his contract.
