Match Preview: York City v Wealdstone (Saturday, 3pm)

Wealdstone travel to the LNER Community Stadium looking to secure a first win in seven National League games against York City on Saturday.

Wealdstone have lost three and drawn three matches since they last earned three points – against FC Halifax Town on January 27.

They face a York side who have won one and drawn three over that time.

York are 20th in the table after 35 games, of which they have won eight and drawn 15, earning 39 points.

Wealdstone are two places ahead of City in 18th, with 10 wins and nine draws putting them on the same number of points.

With 43 goals in 35 games so far this season, the hosts are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.2 goals per game. And they are conceding at an average rate, letting in 53 goals at a rate of 1.5 per game.

The away team are also below average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.5 goals per game.

In the last three years, York and Wealdstone have played each other on three occasions. Wealdstone won all of them.

Their last meeting was on August 5, when Wealdstone won 2-1 at home.

York’s last match was on February 24, a 2-0 loss against Barnet.

Wealdstone lost 3-0 against Rochdale last time out, on Tuesday.
