Altrincham say they didn’t want to sell star striker Regan Linney to Non-League new boys Carlisle United – but will now give boss Phil Parkinson the funds to replace him.

Altrincham say they didn’t want to sell star striker Regan Linney to Non-League new boys Carlisle United – but will now give boss Phil Parkinson the funds to replace him.

The 28-year-old hit 25 goals for the Robins in 2024-25 and interest has been high for his services.
He also made the official National League Team of the Season.
Alty say they wanted to keep hold of Linney, but the ex-Bamber Bridge and FC United man wanted to talk to Mark Hughes’ side, who have just been relegated from League Two.
